Goals and Outcomes:
Improve phonics, fluency, and comprehension within 6 months. Increase student engagement and self-efficacy in reading tasks. All participants will reach grade-level reading proficiency within 2 years. By linking literacy success to increased school engagement, we aim to reduce chronic absenteeism. Literacy & Lacrosse program’s focus on tailored instruction, cultural relevance, and community involvement creates a holistic approach to fostering reading proficiency for middle school beginning readers.
